Learn how to score higher in Class 12 Maths by planning your chapters smartly and managing your time wisely during the exam.
Most students study hard. But the ones who score 95+? They study smart.
Over the past few years, I’ve mentored thousands of Class 12 students. And one thing I’ve seen consistently is this:
The difference between 80 and 95+ is not intelligence. It’s strategy.
In this blog, I’ll break down how to:
- Prioritize the right chapters for maximum return
- Manage your time smartly in the actual exam
- Build a plan that ensures confidence, not chaos
1. Chapter-Wise Strategy: Where to Focus First
All chapters are important—but some carry more weight and are easier to master.
✅ Start With These Scoring Chapters:
- Matrices and Determinants – Formula based, predictable questions
- Vectors and 3D Geometry – If concepts are clear, scoring is easy
- Linear Programming – Straightforward problem framing
🎯 Next Priority:
- Application of Derivatives (AOD) – Slightly tricky but high weightage
- Probability – Involves logic, frequent 5 markers
- Definite Integration – Practice makes perfect here
⛔ Leave These for Later (Only if time permits or you’re confident):
- Relations & Functions – Theoretical, but only 4–5 marks
Differential Equations – Practice helps, but it’s not high scoring for everyone
2. Smart Weekly Planning
Instead of random studying, break your prep like this:
Week 1–2:
- Finish scoring chapters + start concept revision of AOD, Probability
Week 3:
- Solve full-length sample papers + revise weaker chapters
Week 4 (Final Week):
- Focus ONLY on revision, MCQs, and solving past year papers
✅ Tip: Follow my 95+ Bundle schedule if you want ready-made, chapterwise planning.
3. Time Management During the Exam
Here’s what I tell all my students:
Section A (18 MCQs + 2 Assertion & Reason): 20-25 minutes.
Section B (5×2 marks): 15-20 minutes
Section C (6×3 marks): 25-30 minutes.
Section D (4×5 marks): 20-25 minutes
Section E (10×3 case based): 30-35 minutes
Final 30 minutes: Reserve ONLY for revising.
✅ Tip: Start with what you’re confident in—it builds momentum.
Final Thought:
You don’t need to study more. You need to study smarter. With the right chapter plan and time management, you’ll not only score higher—you’ll also walk into the exam hall with confidence.
